1. Data Stored on Your Device Only
All habit data you create in looplog — habit names and descriptions, completion history, streaks, reminder times, and calendar entries — is stored in a local database on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party. Deleting the app's data or uninstalling the app permanently deletes this information.

2. Data Collected Automatically
To keep the app reliable and understand how it is used, the app automatically sends the following to our service providers:
Usage analytics (via Google Analytics for Firebase)
- App interaction events, such as which screens are viewed and which features are used (for example, that a habit was completed — never which habit or its content)
- General device information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, and country-level region
- Your device's advertising identifier and an app-installation identifier
Crash and error reports (via Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry)
- Technical crash logs and diagnostic information (stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, and the app's state at the time of the error)
- A randomly generated installation identifier, used only to count how many devices an issue affects
None of this data includes the content of your habits, and none of it identifies you personally.
3. Advertising Identifier
The app collects your device's advertising ID solely for the analytics purposes described above. We do not show ads, do not use the advertising ID for advertising or marketing, and do not link it to any personally identifiable information.
You are in control of this identifier: you can reset or delete it, or opt out of personalization, at any time in your device settings under Settings → Privacy → Ads (exact path varies by device). If you delete the advertising ID, the app continues to work fully.
4. Purposes
We use the data described above only to:
- Understand which features are used, so we can improve the app
- Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and bugs
- Monitor app performance and reliability
5. Sharing
We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. Data is processed on our behalf by the following service providers, acting under their own binding privacy commitments:
- Google LLC — Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Remote Config (privacy policy, Firebase data processing terms)
- Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) — crash and error monitoring (privacy policy)
We may also disclose data if required to do so by law.
6. Data Retention
- Habit data: stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Analytics event data: retained by Google for 2 months.
- Analytics data associated with device identifiers: retained by Google for 14 months.
- Crash reports: retained for 90 days.
Aggregated, anonymized statistics — such as total feature-usage counts — may persist beyond these periods, but contain no device identifiers.
7. Security
All data transmitted from the app is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Local data: delete any habit in-app, or remove all data via your device's app settings or by uninstalling.
- Advertising ID: reset, delete, or opt out in device settings as described above.
- Deletion requests: to request deletion of analytics or error data associated with your device's identifiers, contact us at the email below and we will process the request with our service providers where they support deletion. Crash reports that cannot be deleted individually expire automatically within 90 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you additionally have the right to access, correct, or erase data concerning you, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we hold no directly identifying data, we may ask you for your device's identifiers to locate any data related to you.
9. Children
looplog is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The app has no accounts or profiles, so children cannot submit personal information — but if you believe analytics or crash data has been collected from a child's device, contact us and we will delete it where our service providers support deletion; any remaining crash data expires automatically within 90 days.
10. Notifications and Permissions
The app requests permission to show notifications and schedule alarms solely to deliver the habit reminders you set. These are processed entirely on your device.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we change what data the app collects or how it is used, we will update this policy and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's update notes.
